Data centre provider one of the first to achieve standard.

Telehouse Europe, a leading provider of global data centres and managed ICT

services, announced today that its UK sites have attained the PCI Data

Security Standard (PCI DSS) 2.0 compliance. This makes it one of the first

data centre providers to achieve the standard, following its successful audit by The Logic Group.

Developed in 2006, PCI DSS is a set of 12 requirements intended to prevent

consumer data theft and online fraud, and was jointly developed by American

Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc.

In order to become compliant, Telehouse undertook a rigorous and complex audit of its security management, policies and procedures.

Achievement of the Standard will mean any Telehouse customer, which include JPCi Group who stores, processes or transmits credit card/holder data is assured that Telehouse’s facilities comply with the stringent security standards outlined by payment card issuers.

The achievement of PCI DSS further demonstrates Telehouse’s continual

commitment to quality. As well as gaining the quality management standard ISO 9001:2000 in 2006, it became the first purpose-built colocation facility to

gain ISO 14001:2004, the internationally recognised standard for an

environmental management system in 2008 and in 2011 it became certified with the BS 25999-2. Telehouse has also been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard.

Andrew Fray, business development director at Telehouse commented: “We are

delighted to achieve PCI DSS compliance, which enhances our service offering, not only to customers in our dedicated suites but also in our shared areas using our new PCI compliant rack service.”
